Dance

On record, I first danced to the song Dai Dai Daamma of Chiranjeevi in the film Indra. I was dancing on the deewan trying to imitate the iconic Veena step while my mom was filming the whole scene. Every time I watch this video, I see myself dancing, laughing, & enjoying all the while. Since then, dance has always been a constant companion.

It’s not that I try to break the stress with dance but it comes off very naturally that whenever I’m stuck in melancholy, somehow I get up and play Badtameez Dil of Ranbir in the film YJHD and dance for it. Do not forget the initial part when I imagine being Kabir in the film 😂.

When I was preparing for JEE in my 11th and 12th, whenever I used to take a break from studies, I used to do two things. Cricket, & Dance. I used to lock the door of my room, play the music on my mom’s phone and dance for a couple of songs or play cricket for a few overs and again get back to studying.

The walls of my room ensured that nobody could watch me dance. It’s just me. I feel the sweat. I feel the breath. I feel the body move. Somehow, I get the same vibe when I perfect the moves when I dance for my favorite song more than a couple of times just like the vibe when I hit the ball pretty well and play the technically sound cricketing shots in my room.

I don’t know if this pattern really exists but I forget to feel the time passing. The way I forgot while I was writing this 😉 🕺
