Almost all of us have heard the term ‘telescope’ along with the name Galileo, that too, in our childhood. Today, all I know about the telescope is that we can watch distant planets, stars, and maybe galaxies too. The fascination for space is always there but I feel I didn’t feed it much. I didn’t care much about it.
Many events and things, over the years, made me talk about telescope today which I now realize in retrospect while connecting the dots. Back in childhood, it was these things and people that fascinated me. The Saturn Rings picture, the footstep on the moon, Kalpana Chawla, Rakesh Sharma, Sunita Williams.
A couple of little books, one of them named ‘Inside Stars’ made me know a lot of things about space. And then, it was this Hindi film actor Sushant talking about his telescope. After that, it was the Star Walk application that shows us the night sky to explore the stars, planets i.e all the celestial objects out there.
All of this has been served as bait for my fascination to know more. Lastly, it was this film, ‘ A Walk to Remember’ recommended by my best friend, thanks to you, showing the lead couple building a telescope for star watching.
Connecting the dots, the immediate thing my mind suggested was to try building a telescope. Humbly, I agreed and added it to the wishlist, checklist, dream list, whatever. I started knowing about telescopes and the way to build them. Let’s see if I can do it.
I’ll write part 2 for this after building a telescope. At least there will be some accountability here. Have a good day ❤
